HOW TO FIX THE BURNT TASTE OF VAPE

Blog thumbnail in

When we take a long inhale from our vape, we’re met with a noxious burning flavor and a terrible sensation in the back of our throat. We’ve all been there. In my experience as a vaper, nothing is worse than taking a hit that has been burned. It can happen with any type of vape, including disposables and cloud-producing sub-ohm tanks. Even worse, it could deter you from smoking in the future. A burnt impact can be caused by a variety of factors, but fortunately, most of them can be avoided. To avoid burnt taste of vape, we’ll take a look at some of the most common causes of them.

WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO REPAIR A VAPE?

If this happens to you, don’t panic. It happens to everyone who vapes, and the good news is that it’s easy to cure if you learn how to prevent coils from burning out or breaking prematurely.

HOW TO GET RID OF THE BURNT TASTE OF VAPE

Even though most vapers use some of the terms interchangeably, they mean two different things. Dry hits don’t hurt as much as burnt hits, but they are still unpleasant. When the wick on your coil starts to dry out a bit, you’ll get a “dry hit.” Without the coughing and unpleasantness of a burnt hit, you’ll taste less and exhale less vapor. Think of a dry hit as a sign that you should pay attention.

Don’t forget about that dry, tasteless vape you just took. The hit that will burn is coming. Burned hits happen when an atomizer is turned on with no liquid on the wicks or with too little. Since there is no liquid to evaporate, the coils start to burn the wick, and the person smoking it inhales the smoke.

HOW TO RESURRECT YOUR VAPE

Here are some of the most common reasons why burnt strikes happen and how to avoid them

KEEP FILLING UP YOUR VAPE TANKS

Most of the time, wick burn is caused by not having enough vape juice in your vape tank. The easiest and most obvious way to protect your wick and avoid burnt strikes is to fill the tank before it starts to get low.

PRIMING YOUR COILS IS IMPORTANT

If you use a vape tank that lets you change the wick, you should be able to prime your coils. This means that you have to manually soak your wick before turning on your vape pen and letting it sit for about 10 minutes. Depending on the product, there are different ways to get your coils ready to use. Make sure to read the instructions that came with your vaping device.

AVOID OVERFILLING

Burnt hits are easy to get if you put too much cotton or other material in your coils. If you use too much wick material, it will be hard for the wick to become saturated. This means that a part of the wick will always be directly heated. This makes it more likely that your wick will burn, giving your food a burnt taste.

CHANGE COILS OFTEN

If you use an RBA-style vape tank, changing the coils often is a great way to keep from getting burnt hits. It’s the same idea as getting new tires before one of yours goes flat. When you know your coils are getting close to the end of their useful life, but before they start to fail and give you burnt, unpleasant hits, you should replace them.

HOW LONG DO BURNT TASTE BUDS TAKE TO HEAL?

If the burn is bad, taste buds usually heal in 10 to 14 days as new cells grow to replace the ones that were burned. Small burns get better in a few days.
